Jos Vermaere ( jos_vermaere@be.ibm.com ) is Senior Server Solutions Architect and iSeries Specialist 27 years of IBM, spent mostly as Systems Engineer, later as IT Specialist in the mid-range systems environment (S/3x, AS/400, iSeries). Joined the ITSO in 1987 until 1991; strong link with ITSO remained up to today; authored and co-authored several ITSO deliverables (Redbooks, workshops, presentations, etc.). Several presentations for the COMMON organization. Currently role as Systems Architects in the Server and Technology Group. Walter Casteels, "An overview of the Storage Solutions for POWER systems and integrated environments".
Walter is a recognized expert as IT specialist for the IBM storage products in the Benelux geography. Furthermore, he has a great deal of hands-on experience on these products and is a trusted advisor for our customers.
During his presentation, he will highlight the integration capabilities of the storage products for the POWER systems and how they can operate in order to satisfy the growing needs for both online and offline storage capacities and capabilities.
The second presentation, given by Jos Vermaere, focuses on security and confidentiality offerings that currently exist for I. It provides documentation on access management and autentication, single signon, encryption and securing data and data access.
